A picture, they say, is worth a thousand word. But Joanna Holbrook-Sutherland senses that a photograph of a homeless woman she sees at an exhibit in a trendy London gallery can change her life--if only she can locate the woman, whose haunting face has been also haunting her dreams.
With a compulsiveness that amazes her family and friends and frightens herself, Jo assembles the crumbs of information that leads her to a frigid park in Whitechapel and to Rocky, a young woman with fearful secrets. But the hardest part is still ahead, as Jo deals with Rocky's debilitating physical and mental consequences of living on the street for five years and with the horrors that drove Rocky there in the first place.

Cold edition by Alison Carpenter Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This book is much more than rich girl finds homeless girl and then love. It is a story of two women that are lost and drawn together by something bigger than fate. I really enjoyed this book and recommend it.
I could clearly see the correlation between these characters and Dena and Gabrielle from XenaWarrior Princess. I loved this book and I actually saw the hard copy somewhere.
A very enjoyable book.
I don't know what other people was complaining or trashing about regarding this book... it's not the best, but it does give you a good plot of the story. I don't care that she found a 'vagrant' and fell in love, that's not something that has NEVER happened before. It's something we all know is possible. It's not like she traveled across the globe to find a homeless person she saw in a picture. That would be more questionable, then.
Anyway, it's a good read. Give it a try before you make your decision, not because of the negative reviews.
wow that was entertaining. Definitely enjoyed it. l'll be reading this one again in the future.
Entertaining and a fun read. A kind of unique story line. Kind of impossible yet with a slight probability. With a surprise ending. Read it and enjoy.
A very fast and enjoyable read. The story touches on past lives/reincarnation and explores what draws two people together. The main characters are quite like-able and I found myself really hoping they would figure things out and stay together. There are a few suspenseful moments, which kept the pages turning at a good pace. Highly recommended.
